Society is broken The pillars and foundation of morality is inept

A Broken Earth

Society is broken

The pillars and foundation of morality is inept

Look to the middle east and you can expect

Bloodshed and rivers of blood so red

That they make the bones quiver

When will peace be delivered

To burning towns and cities.

People offer their pities.

Then they forget

We as a collective whole have a human debt

To the people lost in war

Listen as men, women and children roar

In the bleak night

Aside rubble in fright

Nothing is done

Nothing is achieved

Nothing is won

This modern age begun

With such optimism

Yet war is still a decision

To be made

Peoples screams can still be heard in air raids

Peoples lives are still at stake

Peoples lives they still take

The earth shakes beneath innocent people

Not because of a natural disaster but because of bombs

And people still don't rectify these wrongs.

I hope to live long and see a day where peace is sung throughout the land

A place where its finally safe and humanity walks hand in hand.
