Welcome back to this week's list of songs!! So last week, someone suggested I add the genres of the songs, so I'll be doing that from now on as well.
I'm thinking of adding your song recommendations to each part as well if you guys like that idea.
Anyway, on to the songs!
Week 9: February 23rd - 29th
1. Say You Won't Let Go by James Arthur. Genre: Pop
"I met you in the dark. You lit me up. You made me feel as though. I was enough. We danced the night away. We drank too much."
2. Emperor's New Clothes by Panic! At The Disco. Genre: Alternative/Indie
"Welcome to the end of eras, ice has melted back to life. Done my time and served my sentence. Dress me up and watch me die. If it feels good, tastes good, it must be mine."
3. Ddaeng by RM, Suga, and J-Hope of BTS. Genre: Hip-hop
"Ddaeng. Mm... From my perspective you are ddaeng [wrong]. We are all ddaeng [wrong]. No matter who had influence. For me it's a ddaeng [wrong] I don't care at all." (English Translation).
Since ddaeng is a hard word to translate, and they use it several different ways in this song, I'll put a link to a video explaining more in the comments!
4. Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. Genre: Alternative/Indie, Rock
"We'll do it all. Everything. On our own. We don't need. Anything. Or anyone."
5. Bird by Billie Marten. Genre: Singer-Songwriter
"She's underwater again. Somebody's daughter, a friend. In the night in the dark in the cold. As she walks far away."
6. Six Feet Under by Billie Eilish. Genre: Alternative/Indie
"Help, I lost myself again. But I remember you. Don't come back. It won't end well. But I wish you'd tell me to."
7. Call Me Baby by EXO. Genre: K-Pop
"This street is completely crazy. Strangers in between people. Every moment that we're together. Like boom boom boom boom boom. What up." (English Translation).
party favor by Billie Eilish. Genre: Indie Pop
"Hey, call me back when ya get this. Or when you've got a minute. We really need to talk. Wait, you know what? Maybe just forget it. 'Cause by the time you get this. Your number might be blocked."
Hope World by J-Hope. Genre: K-Pop, Hip Hop
"My name is my life (life). A hopeful vibe. A positive rather than a negative type. I live up to my name but ain't no price. Not a romanticist. An age without a hitch." (English Translation).
bury a friend by Billie Eilish. Genre: Pop
"Say it, spit it out, what is it exactly. You're payin'? Is the amount cleanin' you out? Am I satisfactory? Today, I'm thinkin' about the things that are deadly. The way I'm drinkin' you down. Like I wanna drown, like I wanna end me."
Jumpsuit by Twenty One Pilots. Genre: Alternative Rock, Hard Rock
"Spirits in my room, friend or foe? Felt it in my youth, feel it when I'm old. Jumpsuit, jumpsuit, cover me. Dusting off my jumpsuit (Cover me)."
Unstoppable by The Score. Genre: Alternative/Indie
"There's a moment. In your bones when. When the fire takes over. Blood is running. Heart is pumping. As the battle gets closer."
Dream Lantern by Radwimps. Genre: Rock
"Ah, if only our voices speak at night. Could ever reach the very edge of this world, and of time. Instead of fading into air and dust. Then what will the words, could it ever be." (English Version).
Rookie by Red Velvet. Genre: K-Pop
"Because of your strong presence, I already. Can't even have the slightest doubt. I pretend to enjoy it, haha I try and laugh. I even talk icy when I'm in front of you." (English Translation).
And that's a wrap for this week! Enjoy the songs, let me know what you think, and I'll be back *hopefully on time* next week! -IAL
