Reminder for a former friend

It was I

It was I

The drop of milk in all the rain that has fallen

Torrentially, and slowly filling up your half- empty mug

It was I that beside you gleamed light

The golden obscure to those whose eyes only found bronze

But still you took that second class material and you wore it proudly over your chest

Throw that golden medal viciously on the dirt

But I guess gold is more resilient than what you gave it credit for

Now hear the owls in dark hours of the night till dawn

I will remain voiceless miles away from your heart
