A poem about what I'm feeling these days, maybe some of you could relate. Take care guys, stay safe :) xx

fires with no floods

Some days,

Some days, I am the house

Some days, I am the house burning alive,

Some days, I am the house burning alive, the ceiling falling

Some days, I am the house burning alive, the ceiling falling through the floor,

Some days, I am the house burning alive, the ceiling falling through the floor, your bedroom curtains

Some days, I am the house burning alive, the ceiling falling through the floor, your bedroom curtains try giving me the slip,

for when you are at shore,

for when you are at shore, there is always escape

for when you are at shore, there is always escape closer

for when you are at shore, there is always escape closer than you'd like to believe.

Other days,

Other days, sweat gathers

Other days, sweat gathers in a puddle by my feet—

Other days, sweat gathers in a puddle by my feet— I accept no blame,

Other days, sweat gathers in a puddle by my feet— I accept no blame, other days my tongue holds

Other days, sweat gathers in a puddle by my feet— I accept no blame, other days my tongue holds matches

by the dozen

by the dozen and they're never silent,

they're never silent.

(i.n.)

This poem is something quick I wrote while baking, based off of how I'm feeling these days. I'm not in the best time of my life, so I think it's reflecting on what I'm writing. This poem is all about control, the lack of it and what it feels like to be slowly losing it.

There have been worser days, maybe there still will be. But it's all I have for now :) Thank you for reading guys, take care <3
