The ones I've come across

by Housecat

Isolated I found a friend

The rain washed away the soil, and revealed was a girl among sharpened stones She'd survived the storm, and she would live through many more And she began the tour to

In short of smiles I found another

He crowded the heavy silence with crude jokes And we'd spend many of our afternoons, with sodas and controllers in hand

I'd find a third, who hadn't found himself yet

With a frustration for the world around him A kid who'd tell you of all his favorite TV shows A kid who could paint the world in vivid detail Just give him a laptop keyboard

And together we were crooked smiles, patched with crooked teeth Titanium and plastic Invisalign prisons for our grins

So I wanted to thank them

For being the reason I'm still holding on For being the reason I'm still standing strong For being the reason I'm still writing these songs

This is a beautiful ode to friendship in general, and to those specific friends you mentioned.
