This is a poem I wrote to explain how PTSD feels to me

Shatter

You say I'm fragile Cause I shatter like glass

But I pick up the pieces Again and again

I've been forged and reforged Again and again

And on the good days you can't see the cracks And on the bad I shatter like glass

I'm like a vase that's been thrown at the wall I search for the pieces But can't find them all

My edges are sharp and they cut like a knife Because that's what I needed to help me survive

This is such a great poem! And it paints the disorder in a light that allows other people to see what people with the disorder experience. Thank you for writing this!
