A poem about love in small things

Everyday Occurrences

I love that my jacket smells like you And that we only call it mine because that's how it started But really We no longer know who it belongs to.

I brought a stuffed hedgehog to you The night I gave you my first kiss He is part of your bed now If he could speak, he would tell our love story.

I left a toothbrush at your apartment You gave it a cap and a place On your busy sink I used to think toothbrushes were just things you had, not things that belonged somewhere.

Like I belong, Now, With you. And you Now, With me. Everyday
