The girl within the thicket; part three
Leaving Joshua behind Ann went to check her trap hopefully a buck would be in there. She could use the horn tips as both arrow and spearheads. The last one had already shed its horns.
Leaves bending beneath her bare feet Ann sped towards her trap for the second time that day. She ducked under branches effortlessly and scrambled up the tall oak to cross the stream.
And for the second time that day, Ann was met with disappointment. A possum was in her trap. This trap was a stick and stone trap so the rodent was put out of its misery.
Sighing as she removed the uneven stone slab from the possum she wondered if she would have enough food for the winter. Ann hated the thought of having to go to town for longer than a week.
Hoping to scare her unsuspecting guest again she snuck up behind him soundlessly. "BOO!"
