A Universal Law

The laws of gravity were penned for you;

our iron-laden wings reeked sharp of mass

An angel boasts a winning point of view

And phase she can through window panes of glass

"Pose stiller than a harper's rooted spine,

"wax distant as the dove's conclusive flight"

For olive branches woven through with twine

oft strangle quick a flier's appetite

The laws which marry sole of foot to soil

Cajole a fleshy shoulder blade to toil
