I made this poem a year or two ago, please let me know what you think of it!

Bottle the Stars

They're called flies, but they light up the night

They're called flies, but they light up the night Seeing them is a rarity and a beautiful sight

They're called flies, but they light up the night Seeing them is a rarity and a beautiful sight Us as kids, we'd call them stars

They're called flies, but they light up the night Seeing them is a rarity and a beautiful sight Us as kids, we'd call them stars And then we bottled them in our jars.

We unscrewed the lid, and our adventure began

We unscrewed the lid, and our adventure began On the moonlit hill side is where we ran

We unscrewed the lid, and our adventure began On the moonlit hill side is where we ran The wind through our hair, not a care in the world

We unscrewed the lid, and our adventure began On the moonlit hill side is where we ran The wind through our hair, not a care in the world The fireflies scattered in the night, becoming unfurled.

Our eyes shone as bright as the stars,

Our eyes shone as bright as the stars, Our hearts as light as the lively atmosphere, the world became ours

Our eyes shone as bright as the stars, Our hearts as light as the lively atmosphere, the world became ours After the adrenaline of the night died down,

Our eyes shone as bright as the stars, Our hearts as light as the lively atmosphere, the world became ours After the adrenaline of the night died down, We sat beside each other on a grassy hill, overlooking Long Island Sound.

For that one night, the world was ours,

For that one night, the world was ours, That beautiful night when we bottled the stars.

This was based off of a Leo Valdez fanfic I read a while ago. I hope you guys liked it! - Artemis
