There was once an old potato farmer that worked on his crops for many years. One day his horse ran away.
When the news spread around his neighbors came over. "Just awful luck" they said. "Maybe" the old man answered.
The next day the horse returned accompanied by three other wild horses. "How wonderful!" the neighbors shouted. "Maybe" the farmer replied.
A few days after, his son tried to ride one of the untamed horses, he was thrown from the horse and broke his leg. The neighbors again came to offer their sympathy for the "misfortune." "Maybe" said the farmer.
The day after, military officials came to the village to draft young men into the army. Seeing that the sons leg was broken, they passed him by. Once again the neighbors congratulated the farmer on how things turned out. "Maybe" said the farmer.
Keep an open-mind and good things may follow.
