The day my life changed forever. The day the birds quit singing and the leaves quit whispering in the hot humid summer air. The day I found out that your time on earth was concluded. Felt like my heart was saturated in fuel then lit with a match, burning on the inside and no way to smother the fire. Seven hundred and thirty-one days later and the fire is still burning with no water

A tribute I wrote for my mother that passed away of an drug overdose two years ago.

The day my life changed forever. The day the birds quit singing and the leaves quit whispering in the hot humid summer air. The day I found out that your time on earth was concluded. Felt like my heart was saturated in fuel then lit with a match, burning on the inside and no way to smother the fire. Seven hundred and thirty-one days later and the fire is still burning with no water

nearby. Seven hundred and thirty-one days of loneliness missing the woman I called MOM holidays, birthdays and the day that’s only three days away what the world calls Mothers Day. The fire burns brightest on those days. Slowly but surely the birds are starting to chirp and the leaves are starting to whisper reminding me to live the Life that was set for me and to live a life with

unimaginable dreams. I will forever and always love you Linda Joyce Wallace
