of the earth

by ghostpress

how foolish am i

how naive

too shallow, too callow

to relinquish my grip on the stars

while gravity insists,

"you belong here"

and the atmosphere is too thick

to swallow

i reach anyway,

because if i fly, i fall

but at least i'll look pretty

coming back down
