Locked outside of his own house, in the flower field.

Oh, Happy Night

It was a cold night. He pressed his hands against his arms, trying to produce some warmth. It was not very comforting, just made him realize how truly lonely he was.

At his feet, the sunflowers were all faced down, and he kept guard staring into into the distance. He couldn’t see much, Just the faint silhouettes of the flowers.

Even in daylight, the bright yellow plants were all that you could see covering the ground, for miles.

He had planted many of them, and, soon, would be the time for the harvest. Those left, would be killled by the winter.

He had planted many of them, and, soon, would be the time for the harvest. Those left, would be killled by the winter. He felt like one of those forgotten ones.

A flower that had been left behind to die in the snow. Wondered if that would be any better than being plucked earlier, at the prime of his life.

He could hear angry steps inside. How long had it been? Two, three hours? And yet, the man was still enraged. Probably wouldn’t let him in so soon.

There had been nights in which He slept outside, by the door of his own house, because of that anger. He had cried in this situation before, but right now, he just felt numb.

He knew things had to change. But He was Just a sunflower, like all the others in that Field.

And his angry lover inside was the sun, which he blindly followed, day after day, bowing to his every will.

Sometimes, He was warm and tender, and the reason why life could exist.

...And he could be cruel and rough, advocating nothing but destruction.

Funny like he chose to torture him by letting him stay in the cold, as if to say “that is what life is like without me”.
