I came across an amazing answer by Matthew Wyndowe on Quora, in which he writes down the best advice he came across in his time at business school in Stanford. Link here https://www.quora.com/Job....

5 Tips On How To Become Successful In Life

1. Successful people listen.

You have two ears and one mouth. Use them in that ratio. You learn more when you listen than when you talk.

2. Pareto principle

Always look for the 80/20. 80 percent of the value is delivered by 20 percent of the product/service. Focus on that 20 percent.

3. The importance of passion.

4. Be likable.

People who are liked have the wind at their backs. So be liked.

5. Be humble.

The markets are brutal to those who are arrogant.

Hey @sydney , I can imagine we learn so much these days that applying it to personal life can be difficult. However right away I apply the 80/20 rule: I read / listen to everything but apply the 20% that I know will stay with me forever. And listening is something that I started doing more, I can't find the study piece now, however scientifically our brain can process a response faster than we can hear it... so we already think of what to reply, even before someone finishes what they are saying. Knowing that, stops me from interrupting someone - I control how I respond. As for being nice and humble, there are co-related really. And my answer to @lentis explains why being nice shouldn't be difficult. Pheww.. that was long? :)

Hey @lentis , on the contrary... being likable could be very easy. Everyone has a problem, but when you can, watch their back and trust me they will like you and watch yours when the need arises. As humans we evolved, however with that, we complicated quite a few things. Being nice shouldn't be difficult :)

This is awesome @freeman_faiz!! How do you try to apply this to your own life? Often find it hard to take what I learn and apply it

I think the tricky part is the line between confident yet humble, and confident but arrogant. You have to be confident, but still be humble
