There was change in the air.
Most likely, nothing would happen today, or tomorrow, or next week. But something was coming. She could see it on the horizon.
There was no way of knowing how the change would impact her life. It appeared as if it would crash into her like a wave, and sweep her away.
But when the time came, perhaps it would only blow past her, softly nudging her to the side as it moved on.
She was not frightened, feeling hopeful instead. The change was welcome, and she longed for it.
She made plans. Bought supplies and hid them away. Slowly, she prepared for the impending change.
When it came to find her, she would be ready.
