They say it's ten years to the day, Since she disappeared from sight,

Escaping on a Moonbeam

They say it's ten years to the day,

Since she disappeared from sight,

Packed up her best intentions,

And ran away into the night,

That the pine trees on the hillside,

Are still heard calling her name,

And the wind whistles with woe,

Trying to find someone to blame,

But despite its howling fury,

There is no one here at fault,

For the the world was just a piece,

Inside her restless soul's revolt,

And like you can't define the ocean,

By the parts that reach the sand,

Perhaps she was much deeper,

Than our minds could understand,

So legend tells the story,

Of how she left no trace to track,

That she escaped this bitter earth,

Across a silver moonbeams back,

And if you ever wake at night,

To moonlight splashed across your face,

It is her hand reaching for yours,

Her very own cosmic embrace.
