something heavy lives in my lungs

Lung Deformities.

Harsh breathing,

Gasping for air,

Lungs full of cement,

Cracks full of cobwebs.

Heavy chest,

Wilted roses sway,

With every breath I take.

Petals litter the bottom of my lungs.

Every time I breathe out,

They scatter and stir.

Lung deformities.

Dead roses,

Cobwebs,

Bats with beady eyes hanging out,

Making death seem so easy.

Hold my breath,

and the bats attack,

The roses grow thorns that dig in,

The cracks fill with blood and longing,

longing to find a way to live with the sadness

That invaded my heart,

And traveled into my lungs.
