For the daily prompt: Silver because I was bored.

Silver. Second to the glorious gold. Silver. Has stories that may never be told. Outshined by their cousin’s beautiful glow, worth nothing as far as everyone knows. What sounds more exciting to find, What sounds more precious and rare?

What sounds like something more defined, What sounds like something you’d want to declare? Gold. Then there’s silver, always compared, To the thing that it hates when they get heated glares.

When people sift through the rich sands of the world, And smile down at the gems in the sift, In their hands the gems they hold. They see silver and roll their eyes, not being grateful for the gift.

But when they find gold, even the tiniest amount, They jump for joy and shout while trying to keep it amongst themselves. Oh how the silver envies gold, Oh how it wishes for it’s stories to be told, Wishes to be sold than created into a wedding ring.

Maybe than it’ll be loved, As a precious thing, From a sign of a wonderful loving proposal, And be looked down at with admiration, As they remember the day.

They’ll gush on about how beautiful the ring is, How lovely it’s crafted. It wouldn’t be possible without the silver, Through all the trials, the ring is happy when its able to fulfill her. Fulfill the bride who loves the ring so,

The silver band that she never wants to go. Finally loved, Finally in it’s place. Not second to gold, no negative eye rolls to face.
