Beeping, constant beeping.
Beeping, constant beeping. Machines whirring, clicking, shutting.
The rest of the world sleeps, while patients keeping calling.
Hospitalization doesn't bring rest.
It brings stress and loneliness.
Patients lay alone in the dark, their rooms always too cold, always too hot. Never just right.
Pain consumes them and they lay there, in anguish. Praying for release. Praying for the pain to finally break.
Will they get it?
Medication calms the storm for the time being, but what about pain that cannot be numbed?
