Words have all the power.

Something You Tend to Underestimate

by davorite

It's not fair.

Words have all the power—

the power to create

and destroy

worlds as fast as you can build them,

the power to change minds

and move hearts,

the power to inform

and dissuade and warn and to prevent conflicts,

the power

to soothe the worried and the anxious

and the weary and

the drowning,

the power to

harm others

from behind a wall of

pages and phonetic pronunciation and pretty presentation

with

letters that carry more weight than love itself.

@penny I know the feeling. It sucks how much people are willing to use words to hurt others, but I also love it when people use words to comfort others. It's a little bit of a balance, a little bit of a compromise. Thanks for reading!

This was a superb treatise on words. Any moron can wield words that hurt people. It takes the intelligent to use words to lift people. Great post!!!
