'Why did we broke up?'
It's a question Jimin asked himself for the past two years. The question that no one seems to be able to answer other than Jeon Jeongguk, his ex, itself.
It's not that Jimin still hasn't move on from his love for the younger, it was that the question lingers in his head.
Though, of course he still does love Jeongguk however his love for Jeongguk doesn't include any romantic feelings. It's more platonic.
He never knew the reason for their break up. Maybe somewhere along the road of being a happy couple, one of them decided to let go. Their break up was a little bit more on the mutual side.
None of them held grudges, they stayed acquaintances after it but it still hurt nonetheless.
Jimin would ask Jeongguk, but he didn't want anyone to get any ideas, especially since he (Jeongguk) is getting married to a man named Yoongi in the next three days.
Yoongi was a scary man Jimin wouldn't there to cross but still he couldn't shake off the question in his head.
"It's now or never." He sighed and called Jeongguk.
"Hyung?" Fuck. That voice.
Maybe Jimin only thought that he had moved on. After all, this is the first time he's hearing of the younger after their broke up.
"Hello, hyung! How are you?" The happiness in Jeongguk's voice didn't go unnotice to Jimin.
'Damn, Yoongi must be making him happy.'
"I'm okay. I heard your getting married, c-congrats!" Jimin tried his best to sound enthusiastic. He doesn't understand why he was crying. He doesn't love Jeongguk anymore, right?
"Thank you, hyung!"
"I'm happy for you. I'm sure Yoongi makes you happy too."
"He does. I'm very lucky to have met him."
With heavy breathing Jimin finally took the courage to ask him the answer for the question he has been asking himself for the past years since they broke it off, "Kookie, why did we broke up?"
"Why did you leave me alone? You were my person and I was yours. I just don't get it." Jimin sobbed and this time he didn't try to hide it.
"Oh. Well, the reason for that is I was breaking and you chose to ignore it."
"You were breaking me, Hyung. And it was painful. I couldn't take it. I kept on telling you I was tired or that I couldn't keep up but you kept on going.
You wouldn't stop to even just spare me a glance, you just kept going and it was hurting me so much that I break."
On Jimin's side of the story, he didn't know all of that was happening. He did not know that his boyfriend -- now ex -- couldn't keep up with his pace.
"Why... shit. I'm sorry Kook." Jimin cried.
"It's okay, I forgive you because if it weren't for you I wouldn't have met Yoongi hyung. He saved me when I was broken. Like how Taehyung hyung has saved you.
" Jimin could feel Jeongguk's smile from the other end. How unfortunate that Jeongguk couldn't sense the sadness in Jimin.
"Y-yeah, Taehyung." The thing is, Taehyung wasn't there. No one was there for Jimin. No one saved Jimin.
"Hyung, I'm sorry but Yoongi hyung is calling me."
"O-oh! Go ahead. Bye--" And Jeongguk hang up.
