Snowdrops

As the white mantle of winter melts, little specs of light stay suspended on frail green stalks with lonely leaves.

They swing in the cold breeze and fall to death when it gets warmer, leaving behind memories of wintry kisses and frozen tears that fell on icy ground.

They beckon life and pull it closer, and die succeeding in their task, as I thought I would when I first wanted to call you mine, but now I'm forever happy, stuck where snowdrops never melt.
