Reshaping an old mindset is hard work.
A new "frame" is needed, one large enough that it fits every old ideal you might want to keep, and with enough room left for new ones.
But by far the actual switch of frames is the hardest part. It could take days or weeks for it to complete, weeks of agonizing emptiness, of being lost, of being a nobody.
It's the price of forced "improvement".
And by the end, you're lucky if you know who you are.
