We all have our rough days...

A Troubled Mind

On her bed she sits,

On her bed she sits, huddled with a dozen pillows

Her gaze fixed upon hundreds of words that spread to every corner of the book in her hands

Yet her mind is somewhere far away...

The world around her slows down.

The world around her slows down. The deafening silence she sought so much comfort in;

Now keeps gnawing at her,

Now keeps gnawing at her, ripping a little of her heart and mind every second

The hurricane of pessimistic thoughts and emotions

The hurricane of pessimistic thoughts and emotions swirl violently in her mind, making her dizzy,

The hurricane of pessimistic thoughts and emotions swirl violently in her mind, making her dizzy, snatching away every ounce of peace left within her

How is she supposed to explain to anyone

How is she supposed to explain to anyone what she feels?

Her heart sinks,

Her heart sinks, Her gut constricts

Her heart sinks, Her gut constricts Her breathing shallows

"Everything's okay" she tells herself

"Everything's okay" she tells herself "You're okay."

"Everything's okay" she tells herself; "You're okay." She repeats the mantra, now so familiar to her pale lips,

"Everything's okay" she tells herself; "You're okay." She repeats the mantra, now so familiar to her pale lips, as she runs her trembling fingers though her dark, chestnut curls

'But its futile to say so,

'But its futile to say so, don't you think?'

'But its futile to say so, don't you think?' A cold, unfamiliar voice speaks up from inside her mind

"Stop...

"Stop... ...please."

"Stop... ...please." She whispers

The darkness stretches out it's arms ever so lovingly,

The darkness stretches out it's arms ever so lovingly, ready to embrace her fragile body,

The darkness stretches out it's arms ever so lovingly, ready to embrace her fragile body, as she hugs her knees to her chest,

The darkness stretches out it's arms ever so lovingly, ready to embrace her fragile body, as she hugs her knees to her chest, too weak to fight it this time

She's falling,

She's falling, falling,

She's falling, falling, falling

She's falling, falling, falling into a dark abyss

She's falling, falling, falling into a dark abyss once again.
