“So you and Betty are...?” Archie nudged Jughead.
“Together, I guess. It’s exciting, but I don’t really know how to be somebody’s boyfriend.” Jughead replied. “And... you and Veronica are...?” He nudged Archie in retaliation.
“Complicated.” Archie said.
“Complicated how? Betty and I are complicated, but it is working out so what’s so complicated about you guys?” Jughead asked.
“I guess it’s like... I want her and I think she wants me, but it’s like we avoid it and don’t mention it. I don’t know how to say it let alone what to say.” Archie said with a sigh.
“Well in saying that you just got yourself a wingman whether you like it or not.” Jughead said with a grin. “So as my first duty, let’s go socialize, and after follow my lead.”
* Betty and Veronica’s Room •
“Thanks again for this, we are only like three hours into this adventure and it has already been so great.” Betty said.
“Vee? Hello? I’m talking to you.” Betty said.
“Sorry Bee. Your welcome for the tr-can I tell you something embarrassing?” Veronica looked flustered.
“Of course what is it?” Bee asked patting the edge of the bed next to her.
“I think... I’m in love with Archie. I think he likes me too, but I can never be sure.” Veronica explained.
“Ok. If your asking permission, you should go for it. I want you to be happy.” Betty told her.
Veronica smiled and embraced her into a hug. Suddenly, there was a knock at their door.
“It’s us.” It was clearly Archie’s voice.
Veronica inhaled sharply and sprung up.
“What do I do?” She mouthed to Betty. “One second boys!”
“I don’t know just act normal.” Betty mouthed back.
Betty went to the door and opened it. She greeted Jughead with a kiss. Veronica awkwardly smiled at Archie.
Veronica and Archie sat on the bed and started chatting trying to avoid the kiss that Betty and Jughead were enjoying.
Betty pulled away from Jug when she noticed Veronica and Archie look away.
“She loves him.” She whispered and Jughead laughed.
“He loves her. They won’t tell each other.” Jughead whispered back. “If they are alone then maybe.”
“We should leave them alone then.”
As if it was planned they both said, “I need to use the bathroom.” They glanced at each other, burst out laughing, and spilled out into the hallway.
They pinned their ears to the door and when the others showed up for Veronica’s requested socialization, they turned them away and filled them in on Archie and Veronica’s situation.
* Inside of the Room •
“What was that about?” Veronica giggled.
“I honestly don’t know.” He smiled at her.
She smiled back at her.
“I know what that was about.” He said.
“I do too.” She agreed. “We shouldn’t do this.”
“For the first time, Ronnie, there isn’t a reason we shouldn’t. I can only see the millions of reasons we should.” Archie said in disagreement.
“Your right.” She giggled.
Archie leaned in close, but stopped waiting to see I she would meet him. She leaned in to meet his lips without hesitation.
They laid in the bed for what must have been hours until they heard the flight attendant announce that dinner was about to be served.
They laid laughing at what they had just done for another ten minutes before they opened the door for their friends.
They talked and laughed over an uncanny, but delicious dinner. It was time to go to sleep and they all knew who they wanted to share the bed with that night.
Except for Kevin, who was content with having a comfy bed all to himself.
Archie and Jughead exchanged one glance that told each other that they were not sharing a room with each other, but with their respective partners, which wasn’t planned from the beginning,
Jughead escorted Betty out of her first suite, prompting that she stay the night with him.
She accepted, grabbing her things from Veronica’s, and now Archie’s room and bringing them to her and Jug’s.
The three couples could not have been happier in the arms of each other that night,
but Kevin was relieved after what had happened to Joaquin and now Moose was not carried on his shoulders anymore.
When Veronica awoke, she checked the time and saw that they had only one hour until they would start descending, so she savored the warmth and safety Archie’s arms provided her.
She flipped onto her other side to face him and woke him up with a soft kiss.
Cheryl and Toni hadn’t slept in the same bed yet. It felt so comforting to them, knowing they had each other, no matter what.
Toni woke up first to the sound of the flight attendant on the intercom telling everyone to prepare for landing.
Betty had to practically shake Jughead awake. He always slept like a rock. When he woke up, finally, he gave her a smile and a kiss. She knew that he was happy the Vee and Archie were happy.
She knew he was also proud of himself for setting them up last night. She smiled and kissed him back.
