So, does your theater have a rival?
I won't say which one I'm at, but our rival is Regal. There's a 1990's Regal about 10 miles away, and for whatever reason, our chain seems to haaaaaatttttteeeee Regal.
It's pretty funny- I'll tell people that I went to see a movie at Regal (Regal actually plays little indie movies while mine does not), and then I'll get called a traitor. LOL.
I will say our popcorn is much, much better. So are our pretzel bites. Plus, it's a 90's theater so it's just not really up-to-date like ours is, and it's gotten that old theater smell now.
Still, I like changing it up when I go there.
I once thought about dressing up in my uniform with my co-worker and going to Regal to see how many people would think we worked there.
(The uniform isn't that similar, but it's similar enough that I don't think a customer would really notice.
) The key, so that their managers can't get pissed off, would be that we would be polite and well-mannered, and direct questions to the actual workers.
It could have made a funny Fall 2016 Training Video, but I'm pretty sure corporate would have thought we were just promoting Regal instead of our (large chain) brand.
There is a rumor that a new-style Regal is going to be built much, much closer to us (we're talking like two miles away), which would be hilarious.
I wish there could be some kind of "Battle of the Theaters" event.
So, does your theater have a rival? And do people get into it?
