My husband and I went to see Avenue Q in Los Angeles. We bought the soundtrack long before the play came to town and were really looking forward to the event.
We settle down and enjoy the show, laughing and just having a great time.
At intermission we went out to get a drink. An older couple were just going off on an usher. Yelling and hands waving, enraged.
They were mad about the subject matter. The play featured profanity, puppet nudity, sex, and adult situations. Which if you looked at the posters all over the place, you would have known.
After the play, we walked by the usher again and asked her about the couple.
She said there were a few like that each show, mainly season ticket holders, who demanded that trash like this never come back to the venue.
