It was never on the news.
One morning, the world seemed to be silent.

the message flashed across television screens for days.
It happened whilst people were on their way to work, too- thanks to safety mechanisms, trains didn't crash but instead drove to a halt, their carriages still full.
Unable to move.
I've yet to meet somebody else who wasn't paralysed. On my search for food, I often raid the local 7/11's, supermarkets. They all lie there.
They're quieter than they used to be, but still talk occasionally.
It's been maybe a one and a half weeks, and they're starving.
I walked by a pale woman on the concrete with her child today. The child was dead, and she looked at me with a stale, pulled face. In a raspy, rattly voice, she kept saying what they always say-
*Don't leave me...*
