My quotes about languages

by languuuuee

the most satisfying part of learning a foreign language you are beginner at is when you understand something without having to think about the meaning in your native language and you didn’t

even notice that it wasn’t in your mother tongue

That moment when you watch something in your target language,

understand a chunk of a sentence without subtitles and you replay it one million thousand times to feel the euphoria and you ride on the high the whole day and two weeks later when you

think about it you get those things in your stomach and blush.

Isn’t it just plain hilarious when you read something in a foreign language and understand it then realise that you don’t even learn that language but you can decode the meaning based on

your knowledge of other languages?

Learning and speaking foreign languages are all fun and games until you start to forget your mother tongue.

posting about how much you love languages instead of learning a language

the most awkward part of learning a language is when you are able to understand a sentence but you have no idea how to make that sentence

Goal: reaching a respectable level of fluency in a foreign language without anyone knowing that you have been learning it then randomly starting to speak that language

Every single word you learnt in a foreign language will pay off one day and you’ll be more than proud of yourself that you learnt it even if you thought you would never have to use that.

Just remember that.

- Just language learning things:getting better at grammar in a foreign language but getting worse at it in your native one-

When you need to use your mother tongue but your brain just won’t shut up in your second language.

me: *has to concentrate on not mixing up languages mid-sentence*

when you have been learning a language for so long that you can’t even translate it to your mother tongue because you feel the words without having to think about what they mean

Isn’t it just plain hilarious when you read something in a foreign language and understand it then realise that you don’t even learn that language but you can decode the meaning based on

your knowledge of other languages?

Conjugate those verbs. Learn those idiomatic expressions. Reach your goal. Make yourself proud.

Do you ever just want to pretend talking on the phone in your target language to show people that you speak a language?

When a native speaker of your target asks you in their language whether you speak their language but you don’t know what to answer because you understand what s/he says and you can reply but

you can’t say more things in that language.

the funny thing about having a language blog is that you know bits of languages you don’t even learn because other blogs you follow post lessons

Once you acquire a second language you won’t be able to stop wanting to know more and more languages.

I think when you are able to speak several languages you don’t just understand a different set of words, you also gain a new way of thinking, a new mindset, a new nationality too.

you become more of the world, you acquire things you would never have a chance to get in touch with.

when i think about learning a language it’s not grammar tables and vocab sheets that comes to my mind, but a chance to be more.

I’m learning languages tirelessly in hopes of finding one which fits the complexity of my mind.

native speakers of my target language you better correct me if i make a mistake, nothing is better than being corrected by a native

- Don’t you ever miss an opportunity to speak to a native speakers of your target language in their language they won’t judge you omg why would they.Don’t worry about your accent it’s charming.

Personally when someone speaks in my mother tounge to me I feel honored and their words go straight to my heart.Just remember that.-

Reblog if you function as a language ambassador in your family and whenever they hear someone speaking a foreign language they all look at you.

reblog if you can relate to my quotes! i might add more later on.
