There are a lot of stories posted here daily, but barely any feedback. Stories can be voted down or not voted at all, but that is no help to a writer.
The only way that a writer can improve their writing is through feedback.
A story may suffer from many things: too much description or not enough description; too many dialogues or not enough dialogues; bad formatting or bad grammar; too long or too short; not
enough depth to the characters or the story; lack of plot development; too much telling and not enough showing. The list goes on. No writer is, or should be frightened of negative feedback.
And no one should feel that they might offend a writer if they give negative feedback. All feedback is helpful and should be welcomed.
You do not need to be a literary critic to give your opinion on a story.
The stories that are not voted at all or voted down without any feedback can leave a writer bewildered as to what they did wrong and they might draw a wrong conclusion about what was wrong
with their story. So please leave a comment, particularly regarding those stories that you didn’t like.
