We all know that theaters make very little to no money showing movies. Most of the money is made from concessions so outside food and drinks are not allowed.
I have always known this and I have never worked in a theater. It would be like trying to bring your own steaks to eat a restaurant.
Anyway, I was looking thru Yelp for a movie theater to go to and came across [this beauty of a review]( http://i.imgur.com/TUjKrEl.jpg) and thought you guys would enjoy:

Had bought a couple of coffees at REDACTED OUTSIDE COFFEE SHOP for my girlfriend and myself just before our movie started not knowing or even thinking they would not allow coffees in their theater.
The girl taking our tickets informs us that we cannot bring in our coffees inside the theater and that we could drink them outside before entering.
Mind you, our movie is about to start, coffees still hot, and they are specialty coffees not meant to be guzzled, but sipped and enjoyed.

So this manager comes over and I explain to him we were unaware of the policy, our movie is about to start, coffees are hot & not cheap yada yada...
And ask him to extend us the courtesy this one time allowing us to bring our coffees in.
I must have pleaded with the guy for 5 minutes and he stubbornly refused to allow us even though this is something completely within his control.
> Our options were drink them outside (movie about to start), get movie for a later time (already 8pm on Sunday), refund on our money (wasted trip,
end of date/movie night) or leave our fresh coffees behind (waste of $10-$12 bucks and Major disappointment).

I was honestly so irked by the whole thing I really could not enjoy the movie and wasted $24 bucks on overpriced movies plus gas and time to get out there.

So to summarize: Idiot admits he didn't know the rules. Idiot was offered other options including full refunds or later showtimes.
Idiot believes the theater chain deserves a one star review and has no customer service because he didn't know the rules.
Kudos to the manager for following company policy and not giving into this whiny idiot.
