“Make a wish!” my mom said.
“I wish to become older.”
“Well that wish just broke the record for fastest wish ever granted” dad laughed
After I reluctantly blew out the candles, my 13th birthday party started.
I’ve seen friends I barely recognized and some that would become important in my life, but overall there was definitely less people compared to my last birthday.
As the celebration ended and my parents wishing me a good night sleep as I went to bed, I stared at the ceiling, praying to whatever deity to make this stop before tiring myself out.
As I woke up for the morning and went down for breakfast, already knowing my prayers were unanswered when my mom said;
“Happy 12th birthday, sweetheart.”
I used to be 24 years old and I don’t want to know what will happen when I reach the end.
