As many people know regal cinemas is starting to check bags of people coming. Yesterday at the theatre I work at I was checking the bags while a younger employee was tearing tickets. I had a couple in their mid-twenties come in and when I asked the woman to open her bag she barely opened it an inch. I asked her to open it up a little wider and inside I saw a a loaded gun inside.

Finding guns in bags

As many people know regal cinemas is starting to check bags of people coming. Yesterday at the theatre I work at I was checking the bags while a younger employee was tearing tickets.

I had a couple in their mid-twenties come in and when I asked the woman to open her bag she barely opened it an inch. I asked her to open it up a little wider and inside I saw a a loaded gun inside.

She then told me she had a permit to concel and carry.

I told her she wasn't allowed to bring her gun inside at which point her boyfriend (who is wearing camo and a confederate flag t-shirt) stepped in and said yes she was and that we don't

have signs saying no concealed weapon or that we check bags.

I told him we do and point to the sign beside me that said we check bags and pointed at the door which had the no concealed weapons sign.

They then told me they wanted to speak to a manager, so I said ok and called for the highest ranking manager to come back.

Right when I see the manager coming back the couple start walking for the door. I tell the manager what happened and he says to call if it happens again.

I see the boyfriend taking a picture of our no concealed weapons sign and then they come back inside and go to the movie.

A few minutes later the police officer who was working at our theatre that night came up to me and said the boyfriend was asking about how legal our signs out front were and if he sued us

could he win. The officer told me he told the guy he would lose really quick because the theatre was private property so we could decide if we wanted people to have gun in there or not.

Moral of the story: don't bring guns to the movies.
