Anaphora. Be still, my dear, and let this dream come to you in sparkling lights of golden yellow...

Summer Loving ☀️ Fireflies

'Fireflies' is the sixth piece in the Summer Loving series, a collection of poems about enjoying the summer season with the one you love.

Fireflies

Be still, my dear,

and let this dream come to you

in sparkling lights of gold and yellow.

Be still, my dear,

and watch the twilight dim the land

in increments and ticking seconds.

Be calm, at peace,

and take the gentle wind's caress

in that moment when your eyes grow heavy.

Be calm, at peace,

and greet the fireflies that dance

in circles round your head and feet.

Be brave, my love,

and wait for me to trek the path that moves

in twists and turns towards you.

Be brave, my love,

and meet me with a kiss when I am held

in your arms at last, never to leave again.

Be still, my dear,

Be still, my dear, and calm, at peace,

Be still, my dear, and calm, at peace, and brave

in my love.

END Thank you for reading! Question: If fireflies could light up in any color, what color would you want them to have? You're welcome to answer in the comment section. ☀️ Ann Sepino (annsepino.mystrikingly.com)
