her father, a warrior

by amie

her father, a warrior

who fought wars for which he receives much recognition

for one of the countless wars, he receives discounts

on meaningless holidays from empty employees

hired by vain companies whose only motive

is to appear as though they care

her father, a warrior

who has survived a myriad of civil wars

for which he has not received an ounce of credit

while these were the most arduous, he still receives

no praise

these silent battles left the most scars

the harm not physical, which is why they're dismissed

because if others cannot see it

is it even there?

Goodness gracious, I thought you were talking about me for a while. This is a beautiful poem. You are right the big companies don't care. Just do their dirty work and then fade away. I loved this. Great job!!!!!!
