His eyes shimmer in the last rays of the sun
Gold, like antique jewellery
Eyes like fire, both burning and melting me
Like a moth drawn to a flame, I am unable to stay away
His eyes are like honey
Gentle golden sweetness
Chasing and frightening the bitter thoughts away.
The sun sets, but his eyes don’t.
Glinting in the dark, like that of a puma’s
Mysterious, piercing and almost alluring
I fall victim for that gaze.
The stars from the sky above
Reflects in his eyes
And like a clueless, lost ship
I follow him and he guides me
He smiles and I catch a glimpse of his soul
Breathtaking and beautiful
Basking in the warmth
I lean a little loser.
As my knees buckle
He holds out his arm, welcoming. Promising
To catch, to protect
And I let myself fall.
I’m finally home.
