it swept over her like a gentle summer breeze,
an unexpected feeling that made her insides tingle
from head to toe.
she didn’t think it was possible for her,
but that was until she met him.
he made her laugh,
he made her smile.
he made her think,
he made her understand.
he put her on a pedestal, but she hopped down.
because after the hours spent staring out the window,
daydreaming of him,
she couldn’t think of anything she wanted more,
than to be in his embrace,
and staring into his warm brown eyes.
and she couldn’t have that on her pedestal.
she didn’t want to be better BECAUSE of him,
she wanted to be better WITH him.
of course there were problems,
he took her heart and put it through hell, and she returned the favor.
but through the pain and the turmoil, they never lost sight of the end goal.....
which was to love each other, unconditionally, forever.
and that morning, she opened her baby blue eyes,
made swollen from the tears she shed at the reality of knowing she could never have him.
she wasted day after day, waiting at the window for her dreams to come true.
what seemed like years later, yet in reality only a week, she had returned to the window for the final time, a fact which was unbeknownst to her.
but alas, when she went to dream the day away,
she looked down, only to see him with a single red rose clutched in his hand,
and a hopeful smile on his face.
she only ever wanted his love,
and her wish was granted.
