Winter days that stretch for so long leaving the soul tired and the spirits dimmed leading to inescapable illusions.

Delirium

Clouds overshadowing the sun have swallowed its flare

Clouds overshadowing the sun have swallowed its flare Ominous storms promised the winds and declared

Distressed bodies clad in wet clothes and plastered hair

Distressed bodies clad in wet clothes and plastered hair Stubborn mud clung to racing figures seeking shelter and warm air

Streams of water rose and the wilderness revelled in Nature's fair

Here I sat contemplating stagnation, gloomy and unaware

Here I sat contemplating stagnation, gloomy and unaware Heavy lidded eyes glistening with tears deprived of all care

The dim lights flickered and cast on the wall silhouettes bare

The dim lights flickered and cast on the wall silhouettes bare Darkness menaced the phantasmagorical show as I nonchalantly stare

Tired as I am, little could my mind process or my heavy heart bear

Tired as I am, little could my mind process or my heavy heart bear So I give way to illusion, my calamitous delusions I proudly wear

Thank you so much for reading Delirium. I hope you liked it. If you have any remarks or comments about it or about any of my poetry, please do let me know! Peace x -Jay
