Missing a Version of You

You seem to be doing well

From your Instagram pics

So far from those bangs

You had when we were six

Now you're engaged to someone I've never met

But I remember who you liked when we were ten

So I comment a single congrats!

And leave it at that

We haven't spoken since we were fifteen

And I don't know if when I say I miss it

I mean, I miss you

Or I miss the way things used to be

Cause I know your siblings' names

Still have your landline memorized

Now I don't know what to say if I ever run into you

And every year on your birthday

I wonder if it would be weird

To send you a message even though I haven't in years

So I don't

Then I remember when we were kids, we didn't have cell phones

So I don't have your number anyway
