How to Kill a Killer (pt.1)

It wasn't exactly a comfortable spot from where I was sitting.

It wasn't exactly a comfortable spot from where I was sitting. The boss had called me to his office and now I was in the chairs next to his door. A few passers manage to give me pity others scoffed and muttered "Another rookie gone, that's a relief."

I wanted to roll my eyes but what they said wasn't exactly wrong.

I wanted to roll my eyes but what they said wasn't exactly wrong. Every officer who had been called to the chief's office was either fired or let down easily.

Alex had a brown wavy hair that folded over at the top and honey eyes.

Alex had a brown wavy hair that folded over at the top and honey eyes. He was anybody's dream guy and luckily he was mine.

Alex was cut off when one of the desk attendants grabbed the box Alex was holding plopping it in front of me.

Alex was cut off when one of the desk attendants grabbed the box Alex was holding plopping it in front of me. "I never doubted that you would be gone soon." Ugh. Sam. For a 63 year old- He was a grouchy one. Stubble, baggs under his eyes, and a neutral glare.

That man really needed sleep.

I peered inside the box and scoffed at Sam.

I peered inside the box and scoffed at Sam. It was my stuff from my desk. What did they think? I'm going to get fired?

"Please, I've seen too many interesting rookies who got fired either way." He sneered at me.

"Please, I've seen too many interesting rookies who got fired either way." He sneered at me. "Sam- she's not going to-" Alex had started to cut in but was interrupted again.

I was definitely going to get fired.

I entered the boss's office looking nervous.

I entered the boss's office looking nervous. It was like an other typical office and a big plague that said "Chief of the NYPD" stood out so eagerly with its gold tint.

The boss mentioned me to sit in the chair as he mumbled under his breath something about KFC.

The boss mentioned me to sit in the chair as he mumbled under his breath something about KFC. "I need you to- "I'll pack up my stuff chief-" We has spoken at the same time but he looked confused then rolled his eyes.

"Thats not what you're here about Diaz. In fact its the opposite." He told me.

"Thats not what you're here about Diaz. In fact its the opposite." He told me. "You're one of the few.officers that hadn't managed to piss me off." He continued.

"Thats not what you're here about Diaz. In fact its the opposite." He told me. "You're one of the few.officers that hadn't managed to piss me off." He continued. "The homicide squad has requested you to join so I am transferring you." He continued.

"Even if the fact is that they never did a shit for us." He mumbled.

"Even if the fact is that they never did a shit for us." He mumbled. I manged a shaky exhale.

"Even if the fact is that they never did a shit for us." He mumbled. I manged a shaky exhale. A rookie like me? This was clearly a dream.

"Even if the fact is that they never did a shit for us." He mumbled. I manged a shaky exhale. A rookie like me? This was clearly a dream. Whether or not I joined, it was the fact that my experience lacked dearly.

I blinked. The homicide squad was messed up.

I blinked. The homicide squad was messed up. At least that's what I heard.

I blinked. The homicide squad was messed up. At least that's what I heard. They had thousands of cold cases and the discoveries never ended well.

I blinked. The homicide squad was messed up. At least that's what I heard. They had thousands of cold cases and the discoveries never ended well. But the job was always like this.

"Officer Diaz?"

"Officer Diaz?" I snapped out of it.

"Officer Diaz?" I snapped out of it. "Just sign these and you'll be transferred on Monday." He sighed handing me a thick packet of paperwork.

I couldn't help but feel relaxed knowing that I just proved Sam wrong but a new path ahead for me.
