When I was a little girl my mother taught me of the legend of dreamcatchers. She said that along time ago our ancestor a Lakota elder had a vision. In the vision he was speaking to a spider.
This spider spoke to him about good and bad forces that guide us through life while weaving a dreamcatcher. After the spider finish the dreamcatcher he raised it up for the elder to scutinize.
The dreamcatcher was designed into a perfect circle with all the offering that the elder had given him dangling from the bottom. In the center of the dreamcatcher was a hole.
The spider explained how if the elder hung it all the good ideas, visions, and dreams would get caught in the web and the bad ideas, visions, and dreams would pass through.
Ever since I heard about the legend of the dreamcatcher I have kept on over the head of my bed ever since.
Of course I have done some stupid things in my life, but I have seen my wrong and have or am correcting it.
