Caleo shtuff because I'm bored and lonely as Helheim

⚠️WARNING⚠️: If you haven't read The Heroes of Olympus series, please skip this. But if you don't want to, just uh... read it ig? Also major spoiler warning

I tied the wires together, making the device actually work. I missed seeing Piper and Jason. Like, a lot. But I had to push through. Like mom said, "Waiting gets you back home."

I heard a scream in the distance. My head shot up, and I saw Calypso running toward me, wearing a towel and nothing more.

"What the-" I stood up to get a better view.

She was soaking wet, shivering, and crying. She got to the entrance in no time.

"Calypso, what happened?" I asked.

"My cave is swarmed with bats! Big ones, like this big!" She tried spreading her hands, but her towel almost fell.

"You can stay here if you want." I offered.

"Well obviously! Where else would I stay?" She rolled her eyes.

"Hey Sunshine, I'm not the one wearing a towel. Here, take my Camp shirt." I grabbed my Camp shirt and tossed it to her.

"Look away!" She hisses.

"Okay, Okay! Looking away now." I turned around while listening to her fumble in the shirt.

"I'm wearing the shorts and coverage I brought. I don't want another O-Odysseus situation."

"For the love of Hera, why do you-" I turned around to see her in my Camp Half Blood shirt, her cinnamon hair dripping wet.

She looked at me in searing anger, like I pushed her in a freezing cold bath.

She sneezed quietly, crossing her arms to keep her warm. Tears fell off her face.

"Hey, it's okay. I'll sleep on the floor if you-"

"No!" She sniffled.

I felt my cheeks growing hot. Her saying no to me sleeping on the floor?

"D-Don't sacrifice yourself for my s-sake. It'll b-be fine." She stammered.

"Okay then." I blushed, laying down on the pile of blankets and pillows she gave me a couple days ago.

She hesitated for a few seconds, then crawled next to me, a shivering mess.

"L-Leo?" She stammered.

"Hm?" I asked.

"Do you e-ever feel lonely on the s-ship?" She stuttered.

"Yeah. All the time." I admitted.

She nodded and took my hand, wrapping it around her shaking body. My cheeks turned pink as she curled up next to me.

"We're just l-lonely, hm?" She shivered.

"Yeah. Lonely." I agreed.

She rolled over so she was facing me. Her almond eyes were rimmed with bloodshot. Tears streamed down her shaking face. I rested a hand on her cheek wiping them away.

I smiled reassuringly at her, but she just grabbed my hand with both of hers and kept it planted on her face.

"Don't go away, Leo Valdez. You'll be more alone." She kissed my forehead before falling asleep in my arms.

Holy Hephaestus. I love this girl more than anyone I ever have. Sure, she was a jerk and stubborn, but she cared. Unlike anyone else.

I kissed her nose before letting my eyes shut and let sleep take me over.

"Leo." My mom's voice echoed.

I looked down at my hands, finding them bloody and oily. I was apparently crying.

"M-Mom, I-"

"Shh... It's okay, nino. We all make mistakes."

"I know, I know. The engine is broken now, but you tried! And that's all you need to do."

"Can we go home?"

"Honey, Remember this: Waiting gets you home. That's a lesson your bisabuelo taught me. And guess what?" She placed a hand on my cheek.

"What?" I blubbered.

"It brought me you!" She smiled.

Fire exploded behind her, melting my mother's body. I heard her screams, almost muted.

"Mom!" I yelled.

"Leo?" A voice thundered in my head.

My eyes flipped open and I sat up, covered in sweat. Calypso sat next to me, her eyes twinkling in the moonlight.

"Did I-"

"No, but I was worried. You were sweating like crazy." She looked up at the stars.

"How long have I-"

"An hour or two."

"Okay then."

"Thanks for sharing your bed. And for..."

"Cuddling you?" I asked.

"No! You weren't- We were not cuddling!" Her face turned red.

I started chuckling.

"What is it?" She tilted her head.

I started laughing, closing my eyes while she looked at me quizzicality.

"What's so funny?" She asked angrily.

"Nothing." I laughed.

"Why are you-"

"I'm actually falling for you." I wiped a tear from my eyes.

"W-What?!" She stammered.

I opened my eyes and stared at her. She was blushing while making eye contact. I took her hand.

"Two lonely people." I said.

She widened her eyes.

"Can I kiss you?" I ask, knowing the answer.

She grabbed my shirt's collar, our foreheads touching. Our lips weren't connecting. Just silence.

I melted into her lips, grabbing her waist and pulling her closer. She planted a hand behind my head, pushing our bodies together.

I closed my eyes as she stopped for a breath of air, then fell back into the kiss.

"I love you." I whispered.

She reclined backward on the pile of blankets, still enveloped in the kiss. I pulled away.

"I'll come back, Cal."

"Leo, you can't come back for me. No man has-"

"How could I leave you? Your mine."

"What if someone tries to-"

"Not on my watch. I love you, Sunshine." I melted back in her lips like a grilled cheese sandwich.

I realized I had this girl in my arms, and I didn't want to let her go. Ever. She was with me. I'm hers, She's mine. And that's all I wanted.

Someone to call my own.

Yeah this didn't happen in the books but an idea sparked sooooo Yeah
