I am a professor of legal studies who primarily publishes non-fiction through traditional publishers. But fiction and poetry have always been very important to me as a reader and writer, and I have also published two books of poetry, several short story collections and most recently my first novel, Hire Lernin’: An Idealist’s Quest Through the Realm of for-Profit Education, which is a lightly fictionalized version of my first posting out of law school as dean of a for-profit school of business in the late 1980s knowing nothing about the industry.
Everything. I have very eclectic tastes and interests ranging from law, politics and ethics to poetry and speculative fiction. But my light reading is primarily in the science fiction and fantasy realms.
Non-fiction, fiction and poetry. My primary expertise is law, and most of my non-fiction books, textbooks, and articles relate to the law. But I have also published books of poetry, short fiction and most recently my first novel (Hire Lernin') that deals with a lightly fictionalized version of my actual experience out of law school in my first academic posting as dean of a for-profit business school knowing nothing about the industry. The facts, situations, humor, highs and lows in the novel very closely match my actual experience.
