i love being the surrogate protector of all of my friends
in our anarchic delusion, we confused affection and affliction.
After years hope remerges. It's changing. Hopefully changing.
The knife draws across the skin, the pain blocks pain from deep within.
Maybe we could be a star from some part of the universe. Maybe we could be a sun that lights up the sky.
I couldn't handle being here anymore... so a bird was created to carry my pain away from me, to do and see what I cannot.
Wrote this for the daily prompt. I'm in a better mood so it's a happy one :)
