June 25, 1998 The day I lost the love of my life
Eden was an environmental freak, she would ride her bike home from work every single day.
She worked at a local coffee shop. She would always take the same way home to the apartment we shared.
She would always come home at the same time
She would always come home at the same time.
She would always come home at the same time..
She would always come home at the same time...
She would always come home at the same time... Until she didn't.
Hours... Days... Weeks passed and she never came home, I called the police, they never found her
We assembled a search party we searched for miles and miles in all directions. We never found her.
The police told me that she would turn up eventually, but I doubted that she would be found until I found the note.
It said "If you value Eden's life you'd better come to the alley behind the No Doze Café" That's the name of the coffee shop she worked at. "Come at the time she should have arrived the day she went missing."
"Okay 4:30" I said to myself.
I arrived at the alley behind the No Doze Café at 4:30 like the note said, the alley reeked, but that could have been rotting food and old coffee grounds.
There I saw a young child in a bowler hat, trenchcoat, and a ski mask over his face. He was standing over Eden. He ran away I tried to catch him but he slipped through my fingers.
I ran to Eden, I kneeled over her and I felt my heart drop . I knew she wasn't alive but I refused to believe it. I tried to get her heart to start to beat again, but it wouldn't start up again.
Then, I blacked out
I woke up in someone's house tied to a chair.
Then a child's voice said "They laughed at my drawings, but I laugh at their chalk outlines."
The child who couldn't have been more than three years old dived at me with a bloody knife.
