maybe those freckles

weren't the constellations she made them out to be

and maybe those words

weren't as strong as she thought

maybe her eyes weren't the gates

to a new world, as she wanted them to be

maybe her smile

was nothing more than just pretty

but plastic surgery

wasn't that expensive

and words were as easy to own

as were people

This was cool. i loved it. You brought it home about cosmetic changes hoping for those changes to change perceptions. Great poem!!!
