A young man, twenty years old, stripped of masculinity, living in a chained version of himself due to an unstoppable force.
His body doesn't function right, as he was diagnosed with Overactive Bladder. As desperately as he tries, he can't escape the anxiety and depression that wraps him as if they were chains.
He lives in a small town that has big city aspirations. Desperate to have some form of identity, he paints his nails black, wears spiked collars, locks, and chains.
He gets tattoos, and wears all black. Conflicted, he wants to stand out in the crowd, but wants to be hidden from the plagues of the world.
Cloaked in black, he walks around the concrete jungle draped in the absence of color.
As he thinks of the future that awaits him, he rips off his chain necklace and wraps it around a chain link fence, which is missing its lock. He draws a bruised and battered heart on the lock.
He comes across a stray, black cat. He rips off his spiked collar and puts it on the dark feline. The cat meows softly, before jogging away.
The cloaked young man arrives at the store, his initial destination. He hears laughs as he walks in, probably because of his painted nails, or his dangling earrings.
"Pretty cold night, isn't it?" The clerk mentions to him. "........yea" He answers. The clerk senses his uneasy aura. "keep the change" The ebony draped young man insists.
"...a-are you sure?" The clerk responds. "your total is only 6 bucks dude, you gave me a fifty dol-" The young man's boots clack as he walks out of the store.
Walking home, the cat awaits on an electrical box. As the cloaked young man passes, the cat's ears perk as he jumps down to follow the mysterious cloaked man.
(Un)chained, he heads home.
