Daily prompt short story

Poem style. Not one though. Inspired from people who experience something we the living will not understand: near death phenomenon.

They open.

Slow jog,

Thru the neighborhood.

Earplugs in my ear

Singing to myself,

Kate Perry's "Fireworks."

Busy intersection.

Crosswalk comes into view.

Blinking red hand.

Quickly jogs,

into the street.

Hearing only music,

Deaf to outside noise.

Looking straight,

Not realizing,

Car...

bashes my skull.

Falling

Screaming

Tires...

skins my arms.

Hurting

Screaming

Everything turns black.

Floating above,

Body down below.

Watching the meds,

CPR me.

Something calls beyond my mind.

Something pull me by force.

Scenery changes.

Beautiful green, fruitful paradise.

Peace is an understatement.

Loved ones,

Have not seen them,

In a long ...

Long time.

Standing still.

Voice in my mind asks.

"Do you want to stay or do you want to go?"

Looking around, no ones here speaking.

"What do you mean ? I died."

"Yes but it is up to you."

Looking at my family here.

Then looking back...

My family left behind.

Crying over my body.

Hooked up to wires,

Hospital room,

Heart crying out to them .

"Go.”

"Well done.”

Back in my body,

Stiff with pain,

Hearing my family yell in unison :

"please do not leave us!"

Struggling with my eyes.

They open.
