~ R E M O R S E ~ A gnawing distress arising from a sense of guilt for past wrongs.

Remorse

Remorse— Definition according to Merriam-Webster: Noun - a gnawing distress arising from a sense of guilt for past wrongs

You liar,

You cheater,

You ungrateful wretch.

You have wronged me for the last time

And I will tolerate it no more.

For I shall dig your grave myself and pay you no remorse.

Never mind your sun-kissed hair

or your sea-blessed eyes.

Because when the sun wakes up and begins yet another insignificant day,

You will be under the unforgiving earth,

Your eyes will no longer peer into the world you once called home,

And I—

I will never again be distraught by your easy compliments and even easier kisses.

Your words will never find its way to another woman,

Your vows will stay true to me with no chance of escaping.

You brought this unto yourself.

For I had loved and was betrayed.

I will not be this forgiving the next time around.

**

If only there were such things as wishes upon the stars.

And people would find their way to honesty.

I could love a man once and ruin him twice,

Yet he could love me not and ruin me sevenfold.

Perhaps in another life,

We could meet again and start over.

Perhaps.

~~ Hmmmmm.... Not sure where I was going with this one. I find that it's easier to write about these kids of heartbreaking stuff than happier thoughts. How odd. See y'all anyhow.
